No, thank you Mallika', says Kangna

add

Kangna Ranaut and Mallika Sherawat, who are a part of the movie Double Dhamaal, were known not to get along with each other. However, the situation has changed for the better, and the actors started getting along pretty well during the second schedule of the movie.

In fact, it is learnt, that Mallika Sherawat was even invited to Kangna's birthday bash. The two girls spend quality time on the sets, and it is heard that Mallika Sherawat is giving an interested and anxious-to-make-it-big Kangna some Hollywood tips.

Mallika has managed to make it to the Oscar red carpet, and even meet President Barack Obama twice besides rubbing shoulders with some Hollywood biggies. Now, she's busy telling Kangna how it's done.

A friend of Kangna's however states that though Mallika and Kangna are friends, Kangna isn't interested in taking any Hollywood tip. "She has come up on her own strength and paved her own way. She is happy with where she is today, doing what she's doing. Kangna is highly independent and hasn't asked anyone for tips."

Playing at Eden: Bolly blockbuster

awaazindi.tv

Calcutta, May 7: Two of the country’s biggest movie stars in one box, cheering the home team. The stadium gallery almost transformed into a Karan Johar film set. A chance to watch a cricket match and a Bollywood blockbuster for the same ticket.

This happens only in Calcutta.

After Priyanka Chopra’s pom-pom presence last Saturday, Hrithik Roshan boosted Shah Rukh Khan’s purple people this evening at a packed Eden Gardens.

No surprises that the heat generated by the screen superheroes brought a sharp downpour in the middle of the Kolkata Knight Riders’ innings, fashioning a 10-run win for them under the Duckworth-Lewis method.

It was sweet revenge for the Knights against the Chennai Super Kings after Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s men had beaten Gautam Gambhir’s in the opening match of IPL 2011.

That SRK’s star power has truly turned Calcutta into the Bollywood team is all the more evident when you remember that Hrithik was brand ambassador for the Mumbai Indians when the IPL started three years ago. He had even appeared in the video of the theme song of the Mukesh Ambani-owned, Sachin Tendulkar-led side.

The change from the blue MI jersey he wore in 2008 to the tight purple tee, with “48” written on the back, that he sported on Saturday, Hrithik has been a complete KKR convert.

This is my first IPL game.... I came with Shah Rukh to watch the match and support the Kolkata Knight Riders,” said Hrithik, who arrived at the ground just minutes before the innings break.

But when he hugged Shah Rukh near the clubhouse side-screen at the end of the match, and the two did a victory parade on the wet green outfield, waving to the crowds that had stayed back to catch a glimpse of them, it seemed a magic moment straight out of the movies.

Mrs Roshan, Sussanne, who unlike her husband has supported the Knight Riders before, was there beside Mrs Khan, Gauri, and Juhi Chawla in the B1 box. There were other star couples too in what was the starriest KKR hospitality lounge this entire season. Arjun and Meher Jessia Rampal, Sameer Soni and Neelam Kothari, Chunkey and Bhavna Pandey... clearly, if you are friends with Shah Rukh or Gauri, you have got to be a KKR supporter.

All that star support didn’t go waste as the Knights went one step closer to ensuring a top-four berth.

With 14 points in the bank and three games to go, the Knights would like to finish in the top two so that they can have an easier shot at a spot in the final under the two-stage qualifier rule this year.

A very light drizzle in the afternoon had delayed the start by an hour but the Eden pitch continued to be too sluggish for the batsmen to get into any kind of rhythm.

The Chennai Super Kings batsmen, especially, found it hard to score on the surface coupled with some excellent KKR bowling (by Brett Lee and Man of the Match Iqbal Abdullah), making just 15 runs in the first six overs. The first boundary hit — a six —came in the penultimate ball of the 10th over.

Subramaniam Badrinath was the only Chennai batsman who looked at ease, helping his team reach a respectable 114 for four off their 20 overs. During his innings of 54 off 41 balls, he reached 1,000 runs in the IPL.

While the Knights lost Eoin Morgan early, the other three batsmen in the top order — Gambhir, Jacques Kallis and Manoj Tiwary — played briskly enough to ensure that they were ahead of the Duckworth-Lewis par score when the heavens opened around 7.40pm.

Dhoni had said at the toss that his decision to bat first was based on the absence of a rain forecast for the evening. Well MSD, never trust the weathermen, especially when superstars shine in the stands.

Sonakshi sports Chulbul Pandey’s goggles

awaazindi.tv

The ‘Dabangg’ girl Sonakshi Sinha has grabbed more awards for her debut film than any other newcomer, and it seems that she is unable to get over the Chulbul Pandey craze till now, as she was seen sporting Salman’s heart shaped goggles of ‘Dabangg’ in her upcoming venture ‘Joker’. The goggles were sported by Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan) in the promotional posters of ‘Dabangg’, and they even became a fashion statement for many Sallu fans.

If that's not enough, the actress will even be seen gyrating on an item song in desi choli and ghagra, just like Munni of Dabangg,” reported a source.

Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter has for sure got a hangover of her debut movie and is also all praises for her mentor Salman.

Sonakshi has no problem with other actresses Meanwhile, though reports claimed that the actress has a problem with her co-actresses in the film industry, Sonakshi denied the gossips and said that it was all cooked up and she had no problem with other actresses.

"Every morning I wake up wondering who is going to be the next person I am supposed to be fighting with. It's better to just focus on work," said the actress.

The rumors about her cat fight with the ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ famed Anushka Sharma and ‘Veer’ famed Zarine Khan, have also been slammed by Sonakshi.

Sonakshi’s mom speaks out It has also been heard that all the gossips about their daughter has irked mother Poonam Sinha and father Shatrughan Sinha.

In a conversation with the Mid Day, Poonam Sinha said, “Whether it's Katrina [Kaif], Zarine [Khan] or Anushka [Sharma], they're good girls from cultured families. I feel it's the people around them who are creating trouble."

"Perhaps, some of them can't bear the thought of our daughter becoming so popular with just one film. There's space enough for everyone. I'm asking everyone to let Sonakshi be. It has become very difficult for her to work in this suffocating an atmosphere,” she added.

Ragini MMS posters cause outrage

awaazindi.tv

Ekta Kapoor's upcoming steamy cum paranormal film Ragini MMS is making waves for its explicit sexual content. Buzz is that the film's racy posters have attracted the ire of the janta. Reportedly, angry mobs recently blackened the faces of the lead actors on the film's posters in An dheri and Bandra. To add to that even the Airport authorities pulled down two hoardings near Santacruz station citing vulgar content as the reason.

While the outrage grows, the lead actors Rajkumar Yadav and Kainaz Motivala are unperturbed.

Said Kainaz, "It doesn't matter. People have loved the promos and I think they will still come and watch it.

Raj also echoed her opinions, "I think everyone has their own perception. Hopefully, this will not harm our film and people's perception will change once they watch the film," reports Mid Day.

Balaji's team is incensed by such defamatory actions and are certain it's a plan to sabotage the film.

Salman Khan, the numero uno Khan in Bollywood?

awaazindi.tv

One superhit can change the fortunes around. Salman Khan has been among the most sought-after stars in B-town ever since the super success of Dabangg. Now, he’s set to take the numero uno position. How? Read on....

The buzz is that Salman has managed to pocket big bucks for a new film he has signed. The actor reportedly got Rs. 17.5 crore from a production house not known to shell out that much money to any star. But it had to make an exception for Salman. Moreover, Salman would also get a share in the profits.

Till recently, no other actor apart from Aamir Khan could make such an astronomical demand and still have the producers happily loosening their purse strings. The box office triumph of Dabangg coupled with the success of the Salman-hosted show Bigg Boss 4 has added a lot of market value to the star’s name and image.

There was a time when Salman wasn’t the best choice for various brands to rope in for commercials because of his bratty image, but now Salman is being seen more often in commercials than before.

Also add to all this the fact that Salman is finally doing a film (Ek Tha Tiger) with Yash Raj Films, the prestigious banner, and is also the obvious choice for the sequel of Dabangg and a 3D film to be made by brother Sohail Khan. Even Karan Johar, a staunch Shahrukh Khan loyalist, is learnt to be sending feelers to Salman for a film. Looking at the whole picture, there’s no other Khan in Bollywood who has as many projects as Salman under his sleeve.

Just one more hit in the form of Ready would catapult Salman to the numero uno slot in Bollywood. Salman’s just one shot away from glory.

Did YRF first offer Ek Tha Tiger to Shah Rukh Khan?

awaazindia.tv

Yash Raj Films probably made one of the biggest announcements last week when they signed Salman Khan along with Katrina Kaif for Kabir Khan's directorial venture Ek Tha Tiger. The news was indeed big as it is the first time Salman is working with Yash Raj Films.

However, not many people know that the same film had earlier been offered to YRF favourite and Salman's rival Shah Rukh Khan who unfortunately couldn't take it up due to date issues. King Khan in a recent interview has confirmed the same and has said that he doesn't have any regrets that YRF have now gone ahead and signed Salman for the project. However, it remains to be seen if Sallu was aware of this fact before signing the project.

Aarakshan` set in Bhopal demolished by local authorities

awaazindia.tv

Bhopal: Local authorities have demolished a major set in Bhopal where patchwork scenes for the film `Aarakshan` between actors Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan were scheduled to be shot later this month.

The demolition was ordered by the District Magistrate`s office.

The set that has been demolished included an entire bungalow that belongs to the character played by Amitabh Bachhan in the film and parts of the tabela, where informal schools were set up in the film. This particular set was spread over an acre and a half of land.

Prakash Jha Productions had taken the land on lease from Minal Residency Group, not realising that it was disputed property.

From end-January till end of March shooting had taken place on the constructed set.

"We had no idea that the land where we had constructed the set was disputed. But I do feel that even though the demolition had to go through, the authorities knew we had constructed only temporary structures for the purpose of shooting. Why demolish it? It would have been dismantled within a month. Everyone in Bhopal knew it was a set," Prakash Jha said.

"The demolition has definitely upset our plans. The reason we had left the set standing was because there were a couple of patchwork scenes with Saif and Deepika that remained to be shot. Now we have to work out alternative arrangements," he said.

ADM Bhopal Rajnish Shrivastava said, "It was an illegal structure, so it was demolished. The High Court had directed us to demolish the structure. We did what we were supposed to, because the construction on that area was not legal."

awaazindi.tv

Even as Deepika Padukone’s Rana co-superstar Rajinikanth was recovering in the hospital, the young actor remained professional and continued her work. She shot for a song and a few solo sequences for 14 to 15 hours a day to wrap up as much as she could. “Deepika has shot for about 70 percent of the song. The rest of the number, which is a dream sequence, will be shot with Rajini sir in London. We also shot a few solo scenes with her,” says KS Ravikumar, director of Rana. The film’s first schedule came to an end last week.

Ask Ravikumar if the first schedule was cut short due to Rajinikanth’s illness and he shoots back: “No shooting schedule was altered or cancelled. We were only supposed to shoot a song with Deepika.

DeepikaThough sources suggest Rajinikanth was supposed to shoot a few scenes in the first schedule, the director denies it. “Rajini sir was not required much right now,” he insisted. For the uninitiated, Rajinikanth was admitted to the ICU of Isabel hospital in Chennai for fever and breathlessness. Reports say he is better now and will resume work after a couple of weeks of rest. The second schedule is expected to start in July. “And Deepika will join us again by June end,” adds Ravikumar.

Impressed with Deepika’s professionalism, he makes it a point to say, “She is a very professional, talented and nice actor, who has been a dream to work with. We are very happy to have wrapped up our first schedule with her.” Deepika will be seen donning a 17th century look with a South Indian touch in the film.
